Five for Friday

this place...

 1. For the third summer in a row, I traveled up to Riverview Bible Camp in the Northeastern corner of Washington to spend a week in my favorite role- Camp Nurse Vickie.  Driving through Pend Oreille County surrounded by these mountains still takes my breath away.

2. The sweet, sweet sound of 350 junior highers wholeheartedly worshipping a God they have fallen in love with.

3. Serving alongside some of the greatest people I have ever known.  Jen and I have worked together either planning for or serving at every junior high camp since I left 8th grade.   Blake still pushes me to be the best me, even though I'm not one of his summer staffers anymore, and it was a joy to watch Tyler in his new role as the big boss.

4. Tres and I met at camp two years ago, and it made me so proud to serve alongside him again this year.  Not only is he incredibly talented when it comes to engineering sound, but he also looks to serve every person he interacts with- which is probably the thing I love most about him.

(that and the patience he shows when dealing with my impatience- like when he taught me how to use MY camera to take night photos like this one)

5. A concussion, a dislocated elbow and a hysterical sixth-grade girl- all within three hours of arriving at camp.  I may work at one of the nation's top hospitals, but camp nursing is a whole different bag of tricks- with lots of hydrogen peroxide and band-aids.

  1. Riverview is awesome! I didn't realize how much I missed it until I went back last week and got hugs from all of the Sinclairs, from Blake, and got to hang out all week as fellow counselor with Kandace. :) I'm sorry I missed you! But I'm glad you got to go back to Riverview!
