2012: by the numbers
2012 was a year of many things, and as I was reflecting on it recently, I realized that perhaps the easiest way to compile it all was by the numbers. So here's a glimpse at the past year for me.
5 trips to Oregon
7 cross-country round-trip flights
9 states visited
50,000+ miles traveled in the US alone
3 new foreign countries explored
1 family member I said goodbye to for the last time
1 family member I said hello to for the first time
3 weddings attended (really only 3?)
11 times I got to see the boy I love (take that long distance!)
5 celebratory dinners with my siblings
1 new baseball stadium checked off my list
3 new theme parks visited
7 lakes/seas/oceans I dipped my toes into
4 sacred places Tebowed in (don't ask)
3 different world religions' holy sites visited
2 concerts
4 MLB games
1 NBA game
36,000 feet - altitude at which this blog post is being written and I fly into PDX for time #6.
Perhaps the most amazing thing about all of these numbers is this one: 0- trips booked for 2013. While I'm sure there will be plenty of traveling, it's kind of nice to not know when or what the next adventure will be. Bring it 2013.
